What guitars are you guys playing, how long have you been playing and what genres do you mainly play?
Post pics if you have any.

I play on a Tanglewood Les Paul copy, works alright, but only since I've modded it quite a bit. Just bought a Squier Vintage Modified Jazzmaster, which I'm currently modding to put in a bigsby and a killswitch. I play most genres but latley mostly jazz and folk, but I change pretty often.
Also yay for new forum section.

I've played for 8 years, mostly in tech-death, black, prog, thrash, and similiar genres. Played in two bands (none atm), released 4 records, been on tour through most of Europe. Quitted my bands since I didnt enjoy playing the newer material, and certain persons going dickmode.

    Gearlist;
    ESP Eclipse I
    ESP Horizon FR
Ibanez RG-350 (Seymour duncan custom JB\59 pickups)
Ibanez RG-7621(heavily modified, Dimarzio D-Activator in bridge)
Ibanez Apex II (awaiting Crunchlab+Liquifire set for it)
    Ibanez UV777 (CL+LF)
    Ibanez UV777 (CL+LF)
    LTD SC-207 (emg 707's)
    Schecter Loomis FR
    Washburn Dime333 (x2n in bridge)
    Ovation Celebrity semiacoustic
OLP MM3 5-string bass purely for studiopurposes

    Amps and other fun
    Mesa boogie dual rectifier
    Fractal Axe FX Ultra
    VHT 2-50-2
    Mesa Recto 2x12" studiocab
2x Mesa Recto 4x12" cabs for touring

Pretty impressive, lot of metal guitars, hehe. What are your favorite pedals?

I've kinda stepped away from pedals lately since I'm using the AxeFX for most of my effects.
Atm i mostly use volume and expression pedals, but i got a good bunch laying around (i also like to build pedals myself)

but my favourite pedal atm would be the EHX Ravish Sitar. Its beyond awesome and fun to noodle with =P
Apart from that, I use a MXR ZW Overdrive if i play straight through the amp :)

What's your favourites? Both gear and guitars?

Well I like "dramatic" pedals and such, so my favorites would be Fuzz Factory, POG2 and Whammy. My favorite guitar is probably my Jazzmaster which I currently can't play on. :I I prefer buying cheap guitars and modding them instead of buying really expensive crap.

Whammy is always fun, especially if it's tweakable.
What's worth having comes down to wether you can accept certain flaws some guitars have. some wont stay in tune, some have high action, etc etc. I've never really owned a beginner guitar for a longer period, but then again I'm picky as hell on what wood, electronics, and hardware i want to use ( I also need to have gear that can withstand touring,temperature-changes, and generally alot of hard usage. )

Though I've bought a few squiers for fun,but I ended up giving them away to people who just started playing.

If you like dramatic effects, you should get a ehx cathedral or something, they're very...big sounding =P

I've got a few frieds who I more or less share guitars with, so I've got like 10 or so to choose from, and that's more than enough for me considering how it's just a hobby. Though I've got 4 who are just mine, always good with some sort of "privacy".

I occasionally play my Acoustic Guitar, While i've not been doing it long i can almost play a majority of the Metro 2033 Theme I'm not one for electric gutairs, While it's easier to blame me not having the hair for it i'm just not that good compared to acoustic which i've owned for quite a while but only recently started using.

If it also counts i play Guitar hero while drunk and with friends and after missing a few notes i wake up the next day with 3 bodies and a blood stained Guitar.
    That counts right?

Been playing for about 2 years now, have an old Yamaha c40, and a Fender squier affinity strat. both are in the cheap end of guitars, but I have been thinking of modifying the squier, with a new bridge and such.

E: Also, I play kinda jazzy music, with improvising and solos

I have played guitar for about 4 years when I was young. So I stopped years and years ago. I played acoustic back then and liked to play spanish music. Too bad I forgotten how to play. Back then I played an Esteve guitar.
