Well, I've been dealing with this problem for some time now... however, I can't chnage it. Most of the time I start up TF2 it has to validate Steam cache files... I googled it some time ago and most said I would have to defrag the cache files. After defragging, TF2 starts normal, but after some time it has to validate the files again. I don't think defragging is the only possible solution, anyone knows more? Thanks for any help in advance. ASG
It happens to me aswell, personally i just use the time to stare at my backpack or think about what i plan to do in the game. I think there are threads about it on Spuf (steam player user forums - Team fortress 2) which might be able help
