Suggestion for stuff

Ok, so I've been noticing that quite a few people have left our community over the past few days; some saying because our servers/the community in general is boring and whatnot and some because they can generally just not make time to game.

For this reason, I'd like to suggest something to keep our community busy and more active with (hopefully!) an increasing amount of loyal members...
I suggest we start to do events, WEEKLY; with a raffle/prize draw at the end of each month.
This is how I suggest it could work, (However, my ideas may need tweaking!)
We do a sort-of tournament/competition every week, possibly a Sunday; and the winners/special players (e.g. Funniest, Well-sported (Random each week - only event runners will know) ) of the tournament will have an extra chance in the prize draw and the main winner will receive another little prize, a hat/key/something similar.
The prize draw will only apply to ACTIVE players who join in with the community and are not just there for the prizes; but for the community also.
The prize draw could be a game worth < £20/€23/$35 or some tf2 items / gift vouchers for amazon or something worthy.

This should hopefully draw in more members and maybe increase our popularity throughout Steam.

Ace and I are the event managers (spoke to n0name), and I believe Ace is back soon; so if anyone has any ideas AT ALL, please post here/message me in steam and I will note them down and discuss them with him as soon as he is back.

That's what I was thinking, Yeah.

Perhaps small stuff through the week, like scrap or two worth, then something big at the end of each week.

well I have to admit, people enjoyed the boxing tournament, maybe if there was something like that.

 

Exactly what I was thinking.
Maybe a different class every week, eg. Sniper: who can collect the most points on either team, of course, we would have to monitor people using team switches to their advantage.
Or, a tournament with only a certain class allowed, like we had with the heavy boxing tournament. Possibly in arena mode and eliminate one person from each team every round until it is 1v1.

 

Sounds fun. And indeed if we could do stuff like this on regular bases, lets hope more people will come then.

Easy to do this. Before the tournament starts we write down the names on each team or we check the chat all the time.

We would also need some willing donators,
1.To keep the site/servers running
2. For prizes
Not asking for much, we need maybe about £30-40 in total a month for the prize draw, small prizes for weekly winners and some to keep the servers going.

I'll be donating around £10 a month as my jobs income is reasonably steady at the moment
So maybe another couple people who can donate £5 (or more) a month to help us

 

We could also use this to get more people on these forums.

I can donate €12 a month, which is a bit more than 10 GBP, but I'm making good money

I can also donate some TF2 stuff if you want And an idea: if available, buy some Humble Bundles and do a big tournament with those as prizes?

Also, will all competitors have to sign in to the competition through the forum? Or can n0name make a script to enter your name and you're on a list, which closes at XX:XX, on XX/XX/XXXX?

My fail, it was something like "karaoke" when singin' Bohemian Rhapsody, What I wanted to mean is: We were just screaming MAMAAAAAA OOOOOOOOH, but that shit can go serious with plugins lewl

Can't we have a TS karaoke night some time? Bcuz TF2 won't run on my phone and nobody in this house will get happy if I start singing out loud and they're watching TV (both in the living room :3)

Items are also great as they help gather prizes.

The idea is that those wanting to compete will have to sign up on the weekly thread (which will explain rules/competition type) for that competition; it will be a first come-first served basis, (prob' max 32 as servers maxed out, but sometimes we will do server based competitions - max 500)

More to be revealed throughout the week and the first competition will be this Sunday, 08/07; but I will be at a Festival = not here

I would be able to donate Tf2 Items as well, such as refineds or other stuff (weapons and so on) if that could be of any help. I've always thought about Weekly events and Tournaments for this community and I'd like to help, if there's something I can take care of.
