    hey yo,
showing if and how many people are spectating you/ somebody else would be really helpful for me and is a nice little feature that would make my impression of the server better.
Hope someone can make this real :)

On surf there is a command named !speclist, showing you exactly that. Don't know if its the same on other servers.

thank you! I didnt know that yet.
But thats not what I meant... I would prefer a notification at the border of the screen

i feel like if anything that should be a extra option in surf timer, not just on your screen without a option to turn it on or off.

Would also be usefull for when you're going to show someone a map. You can instantly see when he's speccing without spamming !speclist.

While this isn't a complicated thing to make per se, it requires a bit of careful planning so it doesn't overlap with the timer menu itself.
No ETA as usual, but I have received the suggestion and it will be implemented.

Works in the KZ Timer plugin just fine. It shows automatically up in the menu as soon someone specs you. So you could probably copy&paste something of it.
    If that helps :)

Well, the structure between the KZ Timer and the Surf Timer is structurally different, implementing it from scratch would probably be easier.
Getting a players current spectators isn't hard at all (m_hObserverTarget), rather the interaction with other menus.

Another question: should this panel be toggleable via a command (default off), or always be shown?
If the former, it would override all other menus, unless it is a vote menu or the speclist is turned off.

I would say it's better if you can toogle it. Cause some surfers might have the feeling that it's distracting.

I think you can't do anything wrong with making the panel toggleable. Would just be a nice feature which makes the panel

Implemented and added on 1-6 for testing.
    Please note that:
    • the old !speclist command no longer works (the one printing out in chat) - !speclist will always toggle the menu
    • the spec list is disabled by default and can be toggled by using !speclist
    • certain panels may not work properly while the list is being shown, for example !help (which is just a regular panel).
Any regular menu ((map)voting, admin !settings) still work without problems.

!specinfo does still work if you are just looking for a short message in the chat instead of the panel.
Im pretty sure !specinfo and !speclist were doing the same before. So all should be happy whatever they like more :p
