I got permanent banned for using !voteban, while an admin was on the server... That's stupid...
    Name: Gamediver - Spy's Creed
"When did it happend?" A long time ago, can't really remember date, but it was in 2012
"Why do you think you should be unbanned?" Because it's completely absurd to get permanent banned for using !voteban while and admin was online...
    Specified Reason: Voteban abuse
Date of the ban: 26.12.2012 23:51

Are you telling me you got permanently banned for voteban abuse after only one vote? It doesn't sound very likely, but it's not impossible either to be honest.
Wait until Golden Werewolf has responded to this so we can hear his side of the story. Be patient.

He probably got banned because there was an admin present and usually there is no need to votban/-kick anyone when there is an admin online who you can talk to and who usually takes care of it if there's a real reason for banning the guy.

What just one vote and that's it?! Some Administrators these days.
I'd consider it a bit biased and a rash decision.

We don't know if it was about 1 vote or if it was spamming since we can't read the chat back that long ago.
But I don't think it was about 1 vote.
But let us just wait for golden to respond.

Isn't it kind of harsh to permanently ban someone only because he voted when a admin was present?
I know tonnes of times when the admins are present and don't see / don't do anything about the trouble, and then the players are trying to solve it the best they can.
What are they supposed to do when admins are afk 75% of the time, just leave it like that? Isn't it why there is a function to deal with some players when admins can't?

I agree with you that they still can use the votekick and voteban commands, even when there is an admin online. Since we just can't see everything what is happening.
But just to spam (since I guess that is what it is in this case) the commands isn't needed.
Yes, I also agree with you that a permanent ban is a bit long for something small like this.
But yea, since we weren't there, we have to wait for golden to give us some more information about this situation. (If he still can remember it.)

This was a case of voteban abuse, after attempting to voteban multiple players who weren't even there I took the decision to permanently ban him for voteban abuse.

Maybe he didn't notice when some of the players left the server and thought they were still there? Even though I agree it's wrong of him to (as it seems) randomly voteban players, there could be an easy and logical explaination for it
that none of us are aware of. Then it might be a bit exaggerated to permanently ban him if he actually tried to do something completely legit like punishing library killers and such (as it's in the rules). We don't know.

Maybe we could give him a second chance and hope he will think of all this in the future? What do you say?

I didn't say that I agree with the ban I just said it's probably that what caused the ban.
