I didn't know the person I was brokering for was a marked scammer.

I had been friends with him for quite some time. We talked, played some games and traded.

This is the guy I'm talking about.
One day he asked me if I could broker his unusual War Pig w/ Anti-Freeze. We'd traded before and I assumed he just didn't want to trade it himself, as he told me he wasn't that into unusual trading. Now, I know I should've checked his SteamRep to see if there was any other reason he didn't sell it himself. Unfortunately for me, I didn't and thus didn't find out he was a marked scammer until I got contacted by SirPloko from tf2outpost. He asked me if the hat was mine or if I was brokering it for the previous owner. I told him I was brokering it, and asked if there was anything wrong with that. He explained to me that the person I was brokering it for was a marked scammer on SteamRep, and that the hat was most likely scammed. I was quite shocked by this, and he also told me that brokering for a marked scammer is a bannable offense on tf2outpost, which resulted in a permanent ban. After that, I talked to Billy (Which was his steamname at the time), telling him what happened, and he told me that it was my own fault (which is true, but still.). I was extremely mad at him and removed him, but I still had the unusual in my inventory. Out of rage (and stupidity) I sold it to someone who contacted me earlier. This is my own fault, however I hope that people understand that I didn't know and that I wouldn't have done it if I would've been aware of the fact that he is a scammer.
