    Ay guys, Pointy here.

Just thinking we could have a rule about not posting anything related to the promotion of LMAOBOX, just to avoid false bans etc.

    Thanks,
    Pointy

I thought banning for this stuff is common and just unwritten. Back when I was admin on 2fort, mk etc I banned like 10 people a month for that.

I thought there is an autoban for the sentence, but still people might type it in a bit different way. I actually have gotten reports about regulars saying it causing new players to report them for supposingly using cheats.

    +1 from me

Hacking or joking, its advertising for the hack basically, advertising to hacks ( and other) is a forbid, thought that is common sense

As Triforce says, joke or not; I don't think anyone of us likes these jokes working as an advertisement.

In general, people shouldn't joke about it and go "but I was just kidding around, I don't use lmaobox"

Then quit having a disgusting taste of humor and get good, get Monty Python (or frankly anything but the idiotic idea of pretending to be a cheater).

For this reason, I support the idea of a punishment.
It's tiresome to see the ban appeals where dummies wastes our time.

I don't mind a joke here or there (get food get lunchbox best free TF2 snack) . As long as people do not link to the site, explain the joke or spam it, I am not punishing people for it.

I mean, bad humor isn't exactly a rule broken. Spam is a rule we have on our servers, and advertising the hacks directly is a violation of the EULA. Kind of a slippery slope for me.

    ehhh

    Permanent Ban Reasons:
    Cheating
    Hacking
    Crashing server
    Advertising sites/IPs/hacks
    Pedophile sprays/links
    Racism
We reserve the right to change the rules at any time

doesnt matter if its a joke or not, its still advertising IMO

@TriforceSmasher@TriforceSmasher I understand when it's a direct advertisement to the thing, or even mentioning LMAObox in a fashion that could lead to someone using it. I just don't feel the same when it's 1. obviously parodizing it and 2. not linking to it other than the slogan format. Just like in the lunchbox format I gave; People knowledged with the hack get the joke, people who don't get it won't turn their hand around for it.

Unless an actual rule "No jokes about this" is given, this is pretty much a scale which tips depending on the severity of the joke, the link to the hacks and the admin judging it

When I posted this thread, I mean't for a rule about not saying phrases such as:

    "GET GOOD, GET LMAOBOX"
"BEST FREE TF2 HACKS - GET LMAOBOX"

Not for a rule preventing things such as:

"Get good, get lunchbox, best free TF2 snack"
"Get rekt, get rekt box, best free MLG simulator"

    Anthe, you made me giggle.

Triforce's point still holds, but this is really all up to n0:name at this point on how he wants to deal with it.

    Server Ban appeal

    Personxxxxxx

    Reason: LMAOBOX

Tell us the reason why you should get unbanned:

I got banned by typing "GET GOOD, GET LMAOBOX..", but I never used LMAOBOX, it's just a fun bind I like to troll with, plz unban

That's what our recent example made, so basically, any LMAOBOX user could say that and gets unbanned, or am I missunderstanding?
