My friend was recently hacked on steam. Steam support is taking forever, and we've visited numerous sites for help. The current name of the account is "KaiLo" The name previous to the hijacking was "Ahmed7390(=^_^=)" The hacker has also changed the Steam URL. The hacker has also added "Piesnababe217" onto the accounts profile. This is the only friend that the hacker has added AS of CURRENT. We have no idea why my friend was hacked. We played Smite, that's it. It doesn't even give other players in the game your steam name, and when we do play other games (that do display the steam name, Url, ID, ETC.) We are always playing with each other (Friends). So we have no idea how the hacker even got the account. Please help us, and if you have any question please don't hesitate to ask. Thank you. Here is the account Current URL http://steamcommunity.com/id/kawardak/ Please report this account as a suspected hijacking.
We sadly cant do anything for you, except making assumptions on how he did it. You will have to rely on steam here.
Likely dodgy sites or downloads from what I can imagine. Did your friend check their e-mail address to see if that was hacked? And did they have steamguard etc?
The hacker has changed the Contact email. My friend's email was not hacked. Yes they did have steamguard enabled.
You cant change a contact email either, you can only disable all "marketing communication" This is the only available options when doing any email related things on the your steam account.
Yes you can man. Otherwise my friend would be able to ask for a password change. When my friend asks for a password change it doesn't get sent to his email. And when he tries to sign in with his email it says "This email is not linked to any steam accounts" There is also a steam support thread on how to change the contact email. https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=3176-RTKC-3810
You linked the wrong steam account... only thing I hope is that your friend either has a game that was payed with paypall or credit card, so he can prove it with the information of that purchase that he's the owner.
Oh yes, sorry here is the real steam account http://steamcommunity.com/id/kawardak/. Here is the hackers PERSONAL Steam account http://steamcommunity.com/id/shopkedition
Doesn't seem like his main account unless he's not a typical Steam gamer. I hope your friend lost nothing of value because as far as I know Valve no longer returns stolen items as they now see it as the users job to keep their account safe.
