Declined Plugin suggestion:

I want to suggest a plugin.

This plugin will allow users to use a command to block and unblock someone from a sort of ignore list, this will block both mic and chat and I think it would be a good addition when you want to ignore someone because they anger you and rather than having to deal with them and try your hardest not to give in and yell at them, you wont even know that they are there.

This is why I want this plugin as we have had it when Darkregen and Meh were arguing constantly and if we had this they could have just simply /block'd the other. It may just make some servers nicer when you can block people when they are arguing and making it seem tense.

There is in game blocking in the main menu. To clarify, it blocks both mic and chat.

If you want to mute someone by only mic and not chat, you can do "cl_mute_all_comms 0" (default: cl_mute_all_comms 1) in the console and do the same as above.

Other option is that you ask an admin to come on and gag/mute them if it's a (mic)spammer/squeaker.

 

I am talking about if it is for example one person disliking one so they block him, this way they can still talk to everyone else and so can he but without causing a fight because they are oblivious to what the other is saying.

Admins just cant gag because a player does not like someone else.

 

I would vote against it. Why is this so needed? What happened to social skills and just ignoring people yourself? I don't think we need a button for that. You will feed these people by reacting on them, attention is attention even when it is bad. Just use your social skills.

It's nice to have, but is it really needed? I'm kind of with Pointy at the moment, TF2 already has this functionality built in; it does exactly the same as you describe. You cannot hear / see them, but you can still chat with everyone else, and they can as much with you.
