Description: TL;DR Accused of being part a large scale duping circle.

I meet the accused a few months ago, when he joined my Key Collectors group. I did not have much communication with him, and unfriended him.
    >Fast Forward to yesterday
    (Pic_1 and Pic_2) Pic_2.png Pic_1.png
I am looking to buy some collectors keys on backpack.tf. I notice his listings for a "Fall Key" and "Naughty Key". I add him and we talk and decide a price of 9 keys.

I then make a backpack.tf price suggestion for the "Fall Key" Price Voting - Fall Key - 2 keys - backpack.tf
(I have since removed the suggestion because i learned it was a duped item)
[This includes screenshots he took of our trade]

    >Fast Forward to today
I am looking to buy some more collector keys, and talk to another member in my Key collectors group. He says that there's a guy selling duped collectors keys. I realize that it is the same guy i traded with the other day. I check the keys I had bought from the accused, and the keys turn out to be duped.

I investigate this guy and find that he not only is selling duped keys but duped buds, and unusuals.

    Dear All,

I wish to allay fears that I belong to a duper-hacker network, and restore my longstanding clear reputation. My letter to bp.tf to do this perhaps will save me some time, so I include it below, with evidence of my steam ticket, and backpack history images to explain the misunderstanding:

'On Jan 26th my account was hacked, presumably via a keylogger - this fact will be apparent in my backpack history. My game items were removed from my account and distributed through hacker networks - this will be verified by my item ID - I was the legitimate original owner of these items FIRST in all cases.

    bp.tf
    Jan 26th pre-hijack: [CMU]Castleman's Backpack - backpack.tf
    Jan 27th post-hijack: [CMU]Castleman's Backpack - backpack.tf

Clear case of value items removed.

After a steam ticket and a 2 week wait Steam restored my backpack, and in doing so restored my items, but also duplicated a number of my backpack items, so there were 3 copies of some of these - 2 in my backpack, 1 distributing in, or out of the hijacker network. At no stage did I duplicate ANY items - their appearance came only from these 3 sources: My original hijacked item, my restored item, and the version that was duped BY STEAM into my backpack during the restore process.

    My steam ticket:
    Part 1, Imgur
    Part 2, Imgur

These align with timing of the restore and explain the backpack items - a check of ID sequence will show this clearly.

I am a 45 year old gamer, who has never traded with scammers, dupers etc and do not have the knowledge to duplicate any items (I'd have to ask my teenage kids to even know if that were possible).

It's misrepresentation to ban me on this basis - a check of the facts will show that the ID sequence matches my details.

I value the site, and would appreciate if you could look deeper in to the facts,

    Richard Young (Castleman)'

BTW I did not misrepresent the key I traded yesterday to Paradoxclock - he did not check its history himself, or ask me whether it was duped, as you can see from his own trade text. If he had asked I would have explained this in full, the trade was done quickly over a few min. I have collected keys over many years (see history for this fact) and held a current original set at the time of joining the collectors group Paradoxclock mentions - I am a legitimate key collector.

I understand he feels more is in play here, but I assure - it's not. A check of the facts above will validate these events.

I hope this is sufficient evidence to make that clear - always happy to provide others support evidence as needed.

Could you please upload a uncropped image of your Steam Support ticket?
You may blank out personal data, such as Steam login name, credit-card numbers, keys, eMail, etc.

Either upload the image(s) to our file hosting site (Fortress of Gamers - File Hosting - preffered) or directly to our forums and wrap [noparse][/noparse] around them.

Seeing The evidence that [CMU]Castleman presents, I would like to retract my accusation.

I apologise for any harm that has come to [CMU]Castleman's reputation.

I acted in what I thought was the best judgment, given the information I had at that time. I provided [CMU]Castleman his wish, that the key collectors group not accuse him until proven innocent or guilty, and provided him the link to this thread, so that he could represent himself.

As we are aware, scammers are a menace to the community we put our time and dedication into. I hope you can forgive me for having to put you threw this, given the events you had described earlier.

Although you are free of misdeeds in my eyes I ask three things.

First, I ask that, for the sake of the key collecting community, you do not sell any more of your duped keys, so as they do not go into circulation.

Second, if you do decide to sell a duped key, please explain to the buyer that it is duped. Unlike unusuals, people are not aware there are duped collector keys out there. It is not something one thinks to check. As I am sure you are aware, the quality and authenticity of the key is Everything to the key collecting community. In essence authenticity is what key collecting is about.

Third, I ask that you inform and possibly refund those individuals who were unaware they were sold duped collector keys.

    Regards,

    Paradoxclock

    Thanks Paradoxclock,

A genuinely appreciated response and understanding.

    To your points:

First and Second - Many in the community choose not to be overly concerned about trading with duped items, while others, such as yourself make active decisions on this fact. I do respect that this decision does concern some folks, so I will make it crystal clear that these extra keys available from me are restore duplicated - to anyone interested in a trade

Third, I have only sold the two keys so far - a trade I reversed today to you in honesty.

    Cheers,

    Richard (Castleman)

Archiving this, support ticket proved that the accused was indeed hijacked.
