Hi there! Since Old School Runescape just went F2P and the Grand Exchange got added, which many people who played will remember. I thought of making a general thread about it here, you can share your ingame names and trade stuff ! For anyone that doesn't know, back in 2006-2007 Runescape had it's glory days according to many veteran players. 2 years ago they brought back the 2007 version of the game. In these 2 years a lot of stuff has been added/tweaked and such. Also a new continent called "Zeah" will come soon! I just wanted to share this and I hope some of you who remember it start playing again and relive those sweet memories! RuneScape 2007 Server - Play Old School RS
I liked the game back then. It's a shame they took down the entire project team that was working on it as a non-profit organisation (they went by the name 2006scape) . Jagex sucks ass, and I've kind of promised myself not to help them anymore.
Non-profit? You do realize that the guy who made 2006Scape, just ran away with all the donation money?
He didn't.. Jagex took them down on copyright notices. A few weeks after they did, Jagex opened the 06 version to members only, realized no one would buy their shit because of this joke and made it partially f2p to look like the good guys.
Jagex doesn't deserve the hate they get. I'm a veteran runescaper myself. I like the new Runescape; it actually brings a whole lot more life to the game. And by that I mean that I finally don't stand still, swing my sword and raise my shield in very lazy-like motions, click food when I am running low on health and just..watch my character fight and hope the numbers are in my favor. The new combat system allows me to use abilities and a more tactical approach (and much more tasteful combat animations) and display my real skill. Don't believe me? Then this should help you understand my point. In oldschool runescape PvP: Assume two players are fighting each other, wearing the exact same gear and bring the same equipment (food, potions, ect) When someone hits real high with numbers, or perhaps gets a strong dragon dagger special attack done in: "Professional PvPer" "He's skilled" When someone hits 0s with the same circumstances: "Noob" Let that set the intelligence level. Cheers for oldscape anyway, folks.
That is by far one of the worst comparisons I have seen. League of Legends is a MOBA; Multiplayer Online Battle Arena. It plays nothing like an MMO; Massive Multiplayer Online. In Runescape, you don't play rounds of 20-45 (average) minute games and then jump onto the next game. It'd be the same comparison if you used WoW or any other mmo that utilizes an action bar.
