So how many applications did we get from a random unknown guy with no posts before? Oh wait, that guy even joined a few minutes ago. How many times did this happen? Like, since the beginning of the existence of that forum? Can you count it on your fingers? Plus toes? Plus on another guy's fingers and toes? Guess not, because there were way more. I'm quite surprised nor Pruu's guide nor the Official req thread has this requirement yet IMO it's pretty important. I wanna suggest updating the admin requirements thread by adding 2 more thing. A certain amount of posts and time on the forums. For example: "-You must have at least 20 posts. (can also be added like "Not on the Forum Games section only.") -You have to be a member in the forums for at least 3 months." Was just an example, the number can be decided by the bawss. "Who are you? -1." Add this pl0x. Also sorry if this is not the right section, since this is not a server discussion I wasn't sure where to post this. Thanks.
I would say 30 posts, one month, since I was a member for 1 month and made 46 posts and got accepted.
Isn't it possible to be able to make a thread once you have a certain posts. Like you need a minimum group on the forums and to get into that group you need to have a certain posts. I know it is possible but you are too lazy/retarded to activate that.
Make a new usergroup for people that have been a forum member for less than a week, and prevent them from using the application form? I have no idea if that's possible though.
I think part of the problem may be that on the servers an automatic messages pops up in the chat feed saying: "[FoG] We are in need of admins! Apply at the forums .f-o-g.eu if you are interested!". I think it might give people the impression they can just come on here, apply and get accepted. Just a thought
Maybe it is an idea to make the link for posting an application link to the guid first with a checkbox for reading it? Just an idea, but probably a bit of work to realize. (Just like an EULA)
I agree whole-heartedly, though note that my guide is mostly for making an application, not specifying the entry requirements - it was more in retaliation to shit applications rather than because everyone had zero hours on the forums or in-game. Personally I'd have a basic intelligence test like - Capital of Germany - Name of the community you're currently applying for - If person A is being abusive in chat, what is the correct form of retaliation as an administrator? etc etc.
That's a pretty good idea. I think we should ask the applicants what to do in different situations, in that way we'll know how they'll act if they see someone breaking the rules.
You will only know how they will act when you make that question. It's not certain it will work out in reality
I'm working on reworking the admin application system. This shouldn't take long, depending on n0name's cooperability.
Most likely the current apps will still use the old system while the new ones will use the new system (if the new system gets implemented ofc)
Depends, if the new system is implemented before your application is accepted, then you will be part of the new system. If you are accepted before the new system is implemented, then you will be part of the old system. This all depends if noname is willing to cooperate within reasonable time.
Downie once again talking about matters he knows next to nothing about. All applications posted before my new system is implemented will be handled using the current (old) method.
Sorry for the "necro"/bump, but was wondering what the status was on this. Seems very necessary at the moment.
