Declined Ban some of the most common hacker's names.

I want to suggest that we have a plugin that automatically bans people who join with our notorious hacker's name on orange.
This would hopefully help with the spam of reports of hackers and help the server.
We could also add new names if we find more using the same method just so we don't have to ban them 10 times a day.

I suggest we ban:
I FUCK YOUR MOM!!!!!!!!!!!
Paul
I FUCK YOUR MOTHER!!!!!

I agree. But it's not difficult for the hackers to bypass that system anyway. All they need to do is to add or remove a "!"

Don't blame them, especially Regen.
But I wouldn't recommend banning Paul. There's millions of legit people with a name like this.

it is possible to kick people with specific words in them ;D but anyways. not a very good idea, easy to avoid and easy to ban actual players who arent breaking the rules.

 

Yeah. We have to continue banning them and hope they're getting tired of creating new accounts all day long.

 

So if I join Orange, naming myself Paul, I would get banned?

I think that it will all handled by itself since orange has a good amount of admins now.

This is exactly the kind of thing we have admins and the reporter system for.

 

The reason I suggested this, maybe not Paul but seriously, every day for the past month or two there is 1 hacker with 3 variants of a name and it has gotten to the stage where he comes back every 30 mins to an hour and there will never been an admin on at every given time, I talked to n0name and he said to make a suggestion, so I did. The point still stands. It WOULD help a lot.

 

And it would ban every other guy named "Paul" automatically.

I guess, this guy isnt the only guy naming himself "Paul" on steam

Plus he/they can easily change the name and what would we get: nothing.

It's your job and to be honest, I hardly think that he will keep doing this forever. (otherwise this guy has just no life and no hobbies.)

Just keep doing your job, I know it is annoying.

 

Like tri said, there will be loads of people who share the same names as the hackers, we would then have to handle the ban appeals of people banned by the automated system, which would probably mean there would be more work for you.

When I look for someone called "I fucked your mom" in the steam community there are at least 400.000+ results. So yeah, bad idea.

 

Who else are you talking about? there is only "Paul" / "I FUCK YOUR MOM!!!!" (+ - "!")
regardless on the fact that these both aliases are the same person, how many 12yo's would name himself "I FUCK YOUR MOM!!!!!"
