Accepted Ban appeal (of a kind)

Hi guys! I'm Markus, and my ingame nick is the same as here - Markussss. I've just been playing some on the Team Fortress 2 server "24/7 Orange x3 :: F-o-G.eu - Instant Respawn :: EU2" on the IP 176.57.141.141:27055, ran by you guys.

I joined a nearly empty server - three people online - about 23:00, CET, and jumped around a little as solider and demoman. After a while, one of the guys who already was on the server when I joined started shit talking a bit, essentially challenging me to not jump and fool around, and rather start killing them, and after a while I do so. After I killed these guys a couple of times, there came a new person on the server, and these four people started saying I was a hacker, and after a few minutes of trying, they votekicked me off. As I didn't feel they had any good reason for votekicking me off, I joined the server again and when I came back these four people votebanned me.

While this was going on, there was another guy who joined the server (Tя!cky ツ DaYuM), and looking at the current banlist it looks like these four people have banned this guy too. I took another close look at the banlist, from 23:18 to 23:26, CET, three people have been (vote)banned from the same server by the same people for no reason at all.

While the ban is no big deal for me, I think this behaviour is very negative to the community, and that it's unfair that four (I suppose) friends are able to just say that "hey, I don't like this guy, so he can't play on this server". I'd call this abuse of SourceBans, but I'm not aware of how you guys usually deal with this kind of stuff here, so I'm just posting it all here.

The four people who did this votekick/voteban shit to me/us are:

Unfortunately we aren't able to unban you. Since it is a voteban, which is done by the console, only n0name can unban you then.

However I checked the server chat and it does seem like that those guys randomly just votekicked/votebanned you.

I banned the guys who votebanned you and votebanned Dayum. They won't be seen on our servers anymore.

Sorry but your ban is only for a day,we don't handle 1 day bans.

Edit 2: How many players does it actually take to voteban you on the server?Because i'm sure there needs to be alot people actually voting against you not only 4 people.

As I said, the ban and the time is no big deal. I just wanted justice.

 

Ofcourse no problem.

Next time you see such things happen. Please use the !report command on them. That way we could react to it quicker and even trying to prevent more votebans or other things.

Depends on the amount of people in the server.
If i'm correct 60% of the server have to approve the voteban. That % is however changeable.

 

Donald: In chat, both when I was votekicked and when I was votebanned it said 1/4, 2/4, 3/4 and then I was kicked/banned from the server. I guess it's based on how many people are currently connected to the server (so that even when there are few people on the server, you're still able to kick afkers, etc).

Ah,that explains it then.
If 5 players are on 4 is more then enough to voteban/kick etc..
