Already done Restricting Map Votes

    Hello,

    since voting for the next map basically is a complette SMASH4ASFASTASICANWHATEVERTHEREIS mess. Just throwing in the idea i heard on teamspeak yesterday:

    Restrict the lowest X ranks from voting for the map. (New, Rookie, ..)

    E:

    Would be nice to change the checkpoint system aswell:

    Comparing times always with your best finished run instead of your best time of the current map running phase.

    Hmmm this could work on the 1-3 server. But obviously not on the "Beginner" server.
    Neat idea though

    EDIT:If I recall correctly "Potato" ranks are already unable to vote on the Surf Skill Server right?

    First of all, wassup.

    Second:
    I agree, unknown users usually have no idea on what to do/vote and just vote for that thing they know (mesa).
    Imagine the worst case: No higher ranked people are on the server and noone can vote. A riot will go off and a angry crowd with torches and forks will march our way. IMO taking the vote from them is kinda cruel..
    How about "vote priority". Higher ranked people get more valuated votes.

    Plus:
    Maybe the removal of using nominate as lowrank will partially help out.

    The vote plugin is already modifed to ignore people below 250 points (was changed months ago).
    Not willing to go down any further, it already cuts off 40-50% of people on the 1-3 server (the 1-2 doesn't have restrictions, as noone would be able to vote).

    For the last point, this was already suggested before - but requires some heavy changes on how the stage times are saved (sort of database).
    Was already in contact with Namii for that, but he is quite busy atm.
