admitting to knowingly trading with a user with a private account because they weren't marked on steamrep.

A user traded me and showed interest in my hats, so naturally I checked the users profile 200+hours seemed fine to me, he was unmarked on bp.tf, unmarked on steamrep so I proceeded to discuss with him. I assumed that just because someones backpack is private doesn't make them a scammer. It was only after I traded him that I noticed that the hat was evidently being stored in a scammer alt. I had no prior knowledge that the hat came from a scammer, and was assured the hat was cleaner than any other. An honest trade was made, all precautions were taken in order to do the maximum in my power to check his reputation. I check his rep.tf (Rep.TF) and it appeared to me the user was perfectly clean and safe to trade. According to rep.tf he also has 6 games, and usually scammer alts don't have many games in their inventory. Also I haven't been into trading for a long time, so my lack of experience could also be a factor in what happened.

    Lets see

    1) Free to Play
    2) private
    3) Never used outpost
    4) high value items on that f2p account
    5) 3 games on account not 6 http://puu.sh/dvBMg/3527a03413.jpg
    6) sub 10 friends

Those are all hilariously obvious signs of scammer alts. If a scammer creates an alt account DUH of course they are clean everywhere. that's why it's an alt account and why they aren't trading from their main account. I honestly don't believe you're that ignorant.

I stated what I knew and what I was aware of above, if the signs are hilariously obvious to you congratulations. At the time of the trade I was unaware that the hat was being sold from a scammer alt. Believe what you want, but I have already provided the FACTS. Scammers typically dont have that many TF2 hours, and you know that. Just because someone doesnt have many friends doesnt mean he cant have a nice hat,, just because someone doesnt use outpost doesnt mean they cant have a nice hat, 3 games or 6 games nonetheless still made a point. So what appear to you as "hilarious obvious signs" are not as obvious if you had not seen he was a scammer alt before you made those observations

I reported because I knew it was obvious just by looking at the account. investigating linked him to that account. But just looking at it was obviously a scammer alt. Spotting scammer alts isn't hard kids.

    Thanks for the cooperation.

The report will be declined. The person you traded with however is indeed an alt of salps.

He is tagged + we found an other alt.
