Rejected So joined a server, had to leave for dinner, and get banned for "evading several bans

So after coming home from college I started up the old computer to play some tf2 man vs machiene. So start looking up some some quick match and get placed into the matchmaking server. At he first server I joined was a Spanish one as the texts and chat were all in Spanish, so I left. I entered the matchmaking again afterwards. I then was placed into another server so I picked my class(felt demo today) and went in. As I was contemplating upgrades I had to attend to my son who had scraped his knee and was crying(he's six), and later prepped for dinner, seeing as I was away from the game. So I exited the server knowing that I didn't want to be that guy "who won't press f4." After a good 10 minutes I come back and enter the matchmaking to see I have been banned from the server for.....evading several bans......really? That isn't a very good excuse, wasn't even a Mann up mode, was a FREE tour. Was I banned for disconnecting twice in a row? Someone mad I didn't like their game or was frustrated with game and took it out that way? Some enlightenment would be nice.

 

It sounds like some sort of temporary ban for leaving too many servers in a short period, the kind to prevent a frequent leaver from joining any further servers for a while. I might be wrong of course.

 

I could understand that if it were the case as it is reasonable, but unfortunately its says it is permenate. Though there are thousands of servers too chose from, I don't understand why such a harsh punishment was placed for just leaving a game before it even started.

now it just automatically kicks you if you try to join one of our servers

 

Any way to find the original cause of the ban...For leaving the game early is not a punishable offence in any means. There must be a reason behind this

This is a perma ban by mahoney, and it has been quite some time ago. Since honey isn't an admin at this time anymore, and it's long ago I doubt he remembers what happened at that time.
@sync leaving the game to prevent being banned is called evading and is a banable offense.

 

There's only one reason to find out, and that is to find out what Maone was speaking of.

If we can find out what that "something you have done before" is, then it'd be easier to determine whether potatobacon deserves it or is in place for a lift.

Cheatnow does make a good point, too. Rather..late for coming with an appeal if this was handed out a long time ago.

 

Maone tried to explain that he was banned prior to him joining the mvm server and getting kicked.

 

it could be that he was making repeated offense even though he was being warned and left just before admin was able to ban him.
Some people tend to do that

 

My point being, if ya got sum urgent stuff to do, and you have to leave the game, that ain't a punishable offence. I did not mention anything about evading.

I think I'll wrap this up by saying this:

When I understood that Mahoney was the one banning you, I feel heavily confident that you must have deserved a permaban. Mahoney isn't someone who'd permaban somebody if they didn't deserve it.
Though if leaving was because of urgent things..I wouldn't say it's fair for a ban, but then again: Why such a long time before an appeal?
