What was your name when you got banned?
    RidphoBabe.

    When did it happen?
Around 17.40 maybe, on the 14th of July.

What's the specified reason? (Fortress of Games - Sourcebans)
No specified reason. The ban was basically an act of arrogance, something not rarely seen from the FoG admins, sadly.
This time, what happened was that an admin was asked from a normal player if he could help him level up his Strange Medigun. The normal player asked very nicely, and the admin arrogantly answered "Nope" in a rather dickish manner.
I said something in the likes of "I'm VIP/Admin and therefor I can be a dick to everyone" in the allchat as a way to respond/react to the rudeness. He responded by saying something by the likes of "Good bye", and then proceeded to ban me for a day.

Why do you think you should be unbanned?
I consider this an act of abuse and I don't really agree with power abuse. Banning someone for a simple critiqueing comment is bollocks.
The person who banned me according to the ban webpage was Rainbow Dash.

EDIT: Found the specified reason. It is "Goodbye".

    So the admin said "Nope"?
OH DEAR, AN ADMIN SAID NOPE.
    HOW RUDE OF HIM!

To be honest, I think our admins are way too easily offended lately.

Rainbow probably has a bad day, shit happens.

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.

He said it with a very clear, dickish tone of voice, but whatever.

Never the less, banning me at all is ridiculous for what I did.
This is something that remains on a record, even if it's just a one-day ban.

Well, no. But anyone with a decent set of english skills can read tones of voice in chats. Especially in context with what the other, kind player was saying and how he was saying it.

    1. The admin didn't want to help you. This is why he said nope. That means he didn't want to help you. You could just ask someone else, your friend maybe.
    2. It's a frikkin 1 day ban, you can survive this.

EDIT: Also the way he said it was maybe just your thought.

Please read what I wrote one more time. You clearly didn't read it properly the first time.

And yes, the one day ban is something I don't really care about. I refer to my previous statement:
"This is something that remains on a record, even if it's just a one-day ban. "

So wait, after reading it properly, did it happen like this?:

You: Admin, can you help me level-up my medigun?
    Admin: Nope.
You: "I'm VIP/Admin and therefor I can be a dick to everyone"
    Admin: Goodbye.

If yup, then all I can say is you were still free to ask someone else instead of saying this stuff, and just leave the admin alone.

No, that is -NOT- what happened. I do not refer to myself as "Normal Player".
"Normal Player" is a different player, a third party if you will. He was the person asking.

I simply reacted to the partonizing response from the admin in question. I did not ask for my Medigun to be leveled up.

That doesn't really matter, the point is YOU STILL COULD JUST LEAVE THE ADMIN ALONE.

In this particular case, I didn't really like the fact that once again, a FoG admin is considering himself to be > Others. 50% of the comment I made was intended as a joke, and 50% was intended as critique.

But you don't seem to express any concern for these sorts of situations. And by these sort of situations I mean when the FoG admin thinks that Admin > Everyone else, and acts generally demeaningly and dickishly to the players.

I'm stating this one more time, this is not the first time I (or other players I bet) have seen a case of an admin acting demeaningly towards players, for no apparent reason.

I understand that it bothers you, because this is not the first time, but I don't think that the solution to these kinds of situations is saying things to the admin that makes him ban you.
We have a forum, you know, where you can report anyone.

This is your opinion, not a fact.

The point of this whole post is critiqueing the admin for both acting supreme to players and for banning me on ridiculous grounds. Try to understand that.
You are, for whatever reason, dickriding someone who has not even come to defend himself, AND who of which banned me with the reason being "Goodbye." If my subsequent posts here aren't somewhat of a report, no matter what area of the forum it is placed in, I don't know what it is, really.

EDIT: I am not going to be able to answer for the rest of the evening because of real life.

Ok, he might had a bad day or stuff like that. I completely understand that's not that easy, I'm in that situation too. Still, you just don't have to ban someone because he made a joke about it. I really hope you were joking, because that's some kind of a personal offence... even if a bit true, somehow, looking back at some facts...

You know why the reason is "Goodbye."? Because the real reason is too obvious (for you at least) to write it to the ban.
I don't care if this stuff bothers you or not, I don't care if the admins act supreme to normal players or not. I'm not on anyone's side.
The only thing I wanted to say is you did a bad thing when saying this stuff to the admin, so don't be surprised if you are banned. You could simply report him in the Report forum.
About the other stuff you need to talk to Rainbow Dash.

Aw, come on guys, why so hostile? I can completely feel this guy because similiar stuff has happened to me too before. And I agree with him, some of the admins are way too fast with the ban hammer as soon as something isn't going their way. 24 hours ban might not be very long, but if it's happening two more times (admins being too sensitive), he's gone forever.

What about trying to keep the players, because without them we have nothing. Just a reminder.

The reason function is implemented mainly to inform higher authorities about the reason of the ban, so that's one part you are wrong on.
That is your opinion, not a fact.

Aaaand you finalize your post by saying that I should talk to the admin who aggressively banned me without a proper cause, as if that would help.
He doesn't really seem like the type of person you can talk sense to

    My point exactly.
