Been enjoying this thing that I had for some time now, especially since my memory card came into my possession.
Up to the point I might want to discuss into some select games.

I wonder, what are your thoughts about portable consoles like this and the Nintendo 3DS?

Vita failed to impress me personally. Just, there was nothing specific that drew me to it.

3DS was once okay, but I'm kind of boycotting Nintendo purchases until they sod off with the ridiculous amounts of revisions. Not to mention they are planning on making games that only work on the newest revision, what the fuck?

Nintendo is dead to me, they've rehashed their games more times than COD and nobody bats an eye.

Handheld games aren't exactly my favourite, I like a decent sized viewport and a controller separate, but the PSP has its moments... on holiday.

I still have my weird import white original psp on which the circle and X are inverted.

Since I own both, I find that the vita is more versatile than the 3ds.

For example, I can browse the internet, store music/pictures/videos and use them there for instance.

The 3ds is not quite as 'free' with such things

To be fair, both your computer and (probably) your phone can do that, so while it is versatile, it's not like it's giving you anything you didn't have before.

In my case though, I have a pretty bad phone.

It's a Samsung phone to say the least, but it serves me well enough for the deeds of playing music and calling/taking calls.

    Anyway...

While both these handhelds are touch, the 3ds focuses more on the use of the stylus pen as it's more responsive to a small area being clicked rather than say the size of a finger click.

The vita has touch screens on its monitor and on the backside for interesting possibilities.
